Inconclusive, a gallery exhibition, was a Thesis of Design. In the repetitive practice of studio work, I grew in my understanding of how I, as a designer, interact with materials and the marks they create.
This series is an attempt to answer questions of design through moments of exploration. Each image communicates another piece of information, furthering the viewer’s understanding. Circles and lines, printed and drawn, are an invitation to look—and to look again. Through subtle repetitions, they are methodical and gentle. No piece can be replicated exactly, yet as a whole they work cohesively. They are studies of the relationships between shape, line and color. In these elements of design the works become grounded in the forms that make them rather than the “what” that they are about.
